Three times last week someone invited me to church 

Guess I have that kind of face

In spite of all this darkness I could surely use your watch sometimes

A nickel plate erection / Guess I have that kind of face

I’m grateful for the darkness / I don’t ever want to shoot no one

You see I’m black and blue / It’s old for me but news to you 

I’m grateful for the darkness  / and I surely use my soul sometimes
