I’m American /
that’s all I know for now And if I get excited /
at the sight of blood and money It’s a reflex action I witnessed
as a child But I’m learning other ways Meanwhile we / do the boogaloo / do
the hippy-shake Dance the oak-tree /
and get on up Waltzing Matilda’s got nothing on
me / we invented the two-step / didn’t
we? Now that you have got with the
rhythm / turn your heart to steel Just for a moment / see how it feels Dance the oak-tree /
and get on up At times like these / it’s good to
discuss Just before we do the things we must
/ do to you Just remember that it’s all we see
/ it’s all we know We’re from the same planet / sometimes it just don’t show But I’m learning other ways. Ó Greg Alexander |
